Now, I am not one who particularly cares about numbers.  If our group forever remains small, but is filled with people growing in their relationship with God, growing in faith, taking steps towards holiness and love, I would be thrilled.  However, God has blessed us this past year with growth in both numbers and in maturity.  Here’s some numerical history of the Navs at UCR:

2007-2008: Began with 0, eventually 2 students involved, one transferred at the end of the year.

2008-2009: Began with 1, slowly grew to a solid and consistent 8, with one non-Christian hanging out with us consistently.

2009-2010: Began with the 8, grew to a pretty consistent 35, with numerous non-Christians consistently hanging out with us.  We saw the solid and consistent 8 of the previous year grow from infancy to maturity and leadership, pivotal to our growth as the Navigators at UCR.  Two people accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, and the non-Christians from the previous year continue to hang out, and even begin attending large group regularly.

We’re growing exponentially, in new life, in faith and dedication to Jesus, and in numbers.  It’s a fun time to be part of the ministry at UCR!  Here’s what to look forward to for this next year.

Last year at the end of the 10 freshmen orientations we had:

123 names

77 female

44 male

2 unknown

This year at the end of 6/10 freshman orientations we have:

112 names

62 females

43 males

6 unknown

We are on our way to surpassing last year’s orientation numbers, onto continued growth and especially as we have many more students to help us recruit and meet with these 112 names.  We expect another 80 or so names by the end of orientations.

Thanks for praying for us.  God is working here in amazing ways.  =)
