God’s Sense of Humor
It’s funny, I was just remembering my xanga entry two summers ago when I announced the first of a series of vegetarian bets. And then the entry a few days later announcing my victory. And then I remember all the comments about how contrived it seemed, that a man would “lose” and as his punishment he would “have to” take the winning lady out for a steak dinner.
RJ and I have had a running joke since summer 2006 that we have a blond haired, blue eyed child because one day over the summer I was holding such a cutie, and I was sitting next to him at the dinner table. As I turned to ask him a question with baby in hand, one of the girls at the table squealed, “You two look like a married couple and that’s your baby!!” To avert the awkwardness of the situation, we embraced it. I mean seriously, how can two brown haired, brown eyed people have a blond hair blue eyed child?? Punnet square says NO WAY. Not to mention we barely knew each other.
Who would have thought that he would ACTUALLY be my future husband and the future father of my children?? God has such a crazy sense of humor.

hahahah i love it. i am SO teaching my kids about punnett squares
i’m so happy you remember them! makes me feel like i have some purpose in life.
that is a GREAT story. you should reenact this picture when you’re really prego.
ditto cann – you really should. i love the way you guys both inspire each other to do silly (and courageous!) things for God and ppl
now all you need to do is to adopt a blond haired blue eyed baby. how’s that for prophecy?!
That’s an awesome story!
